Cute as a button

How cute are these chevron buttons from Arrow Mountain? I added them to two sweet cardigans knit for charity. Just for fun, I had the chevrons pointing to the left on one cardi and to the right on the other.
I've always had a thing for buttons. Well, collecting them, that is. I have quite the button stash. Using them in garments I find a little more difficult. It's hard to commit to just one type of button for a garment: I want it to be a perfect fit! I think this is why I don't have any tattoos ;)
I loved the combination of elements in this cardigan, though, so it was an easy choice. I think the earthy-looking wooden buttons go perfectly with the forest-coloured yarn on the garter stitch yoke, and then the leafy-coloured soft yarn on the body and sleeves is cool and refreshing and lets the eyes take a break.
The pattern is the Linnie cardigan by Justyna Lorkowska, and for this 0-1 month sized cardi you'll only need around 250m of fingering weight yarn for the main colour and 100m of fingering weight yarn for the contrast yoke. I used Crystal Palace Yarns Maizy yarn for the yoke (although it looks like this yarn has been discontinued) and Bella Baby - Baby Wonder 4ply yarn for the body and sleeves.
